Interesting EHS SAFETY LEADER growth opportunity with a highly regarded manufacturing firm in western Kentucky. Need automotive manufacturing experience. Includes relocation.
Responsibilities for the Safety Manager
Lead manufacturing plant safety program in establishing and maintaining objectives to ensure a safe and healthful work place
Ensure daily pre-shift inspections are completed, conduct unplanned inspection audits on a weekly basis and planned inspection audits once a month
Routinely make visual inspections of emergency evacuations routes correcting any safety concerns immediately
Within 24 hours of an accident/incident complete accident investigations identifying root cause and corrective action
Perform company EHS & Ergonomics training initiatives by helping identify training needs, designing curriculum, identifying facilitators and facilitating courses as needed-Including New Hire Orientation
Ensure plant compliance with all Federal, State, Local, EPA, OSHA, Kentucky OSH and other applicable regulations
Identify and address opportunities to minimize the financial impacts of Workers' Comp
Create a Waste Minimization and Reduction plan
Develop program to comply with all Storm Water Regulations
Create a Spill Contingency Plan and submit to the appropriate authorities
Champion all EPA and OSHA Inspections for the plant
Maintain all necessary records and submittals to the Local, State, and Federal regulatory bodies on Air, Water Discharge, and Storm Water permits
Provide progress of ergonomic evaluations of all plant floor jobs to corporate on a quarterly basis and determine an effective job rotation schedule based on ergonomic risk assessment body part scores for all plant floor jobs
Lead role in identifying ergonomically related issues with equipment and processes at the design, implementation and operational stages
Serve as Environmental Management Representative for ISO14001
Requirements for the Safety Manager
Bachelor Degree in Occupational, Safety and Health or Environmental Sciences field or equivalent experience
Minimum 3 to 5
years EHS experience in a large manufacturing environment including Automotive Manufacturing related experience
Need experience dealing with WC, EHS & Ergonomics Training Experience, OSHA/EPA Experience, Waste Minimization & Reduction & Audits
A PLUS to have ISO14001 Lead Auditor Certification
Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and presentation skills
